"That didn't take long!" Loki smiled when you returned.
You smiled back. "Sorry. I thought I saw someone I knew. I was wrong."
"I see. Well, if you see them again, don't let me hold you back."
"It's not like that." You murmured. He didn't hear you. You gazed around at all the people dancing. They floated around the floor like clouds, graceful and light.
Loki must have seen you watching. "Would you like to take a dance?" He asked, sticking out his arm.
You smiled. "Absolutely." You took his arm.
He led you onto the dance floor. You found an empty spot. He put his arm around your waist. Your heart fluttered. You put your hand on his shoulder and your other hands clasped together out to the side, like a proper waltz. You began to dance. You were shy at first, obviously letting him lead, but after a while, you grew comfortable in his grasp, and you fell in step with him. Together, you danced to the pace of the music, speeding up when it sped up, and slowing down when it slowed down.
The only thing, however, you had not been able to do, was look him in the eye. With every second step, you felt the bottle of poison touch your stomach ever so slightly. You instead made it look like you were observing the dancers.
Then, un-expectantly, an old man, clearly blinding, stepped away from his dance partner. Loki pulled you closer quickly and you avoided colliding with an old man. You wanted to thank him, but you couldn't speak, because you and Loki were dancing so close, you could have laid your head on his chest without effort. A blush pulsed on your face. You let your eyes drift up to his. Your eyes locked, and even though you wanted to, you couldn't pull your gaze away. He winked at you. Your blush increased.
For a fraction of a second, your eyes fell on Odin, sitting on his throne staring at you and Loki. A smile had formed at the corner of his mouth.
After the song ended, you reluctantly stepped away from Loki. The bottle poked you again. Your face paled. You had forgotten about it.
"Are you alright, Celia?" He asked.
You nodded and forced a smile. "Yes, sorry. I'm going to go get a drink. Would you like one as well?"
"Well, I suppose, if you're going down there."
"Be back in a minute." You walked away to the food table. While you were walking, you slipped the small bottle into your hand. You filled two glasses with the punch. You casually glanced around, and then poured the poison into Loki's drink. The punch turned a darker shade of red, but not enough to be too noticeable. You quickly tucked it away again, and brought the two glasses over to Loki, who was standing in the same spot you left him. You handed him the poisoned glass. He took it. You took a sip of yours, hoping you got the kill over with quickly, so you had no time to try and stop him. Loki swirled the liquid in his glass. Drink it. You thought. Loki looked at you. You smiled but your stomach was twisted in a knot of anxiety. Loki winked at you and raised the glass. The Malekith in you screamed Drink! While your heat screamed No! Loki raised the glass to his lips. Your heart won. You began to raise your hand when someone behind Loki backed into him. It was slow motion for you. The drink left his hand, flying through the air only inches away from your head, smashing on the ground. The red liquid ran across the floor. The person that hit Loki was the blinding old man that Loki saved you from hitting. The knot in your stomach loosened. Loki stared at the red liquid. The blinding old man apologized and was led away. Servants came and cleaned the mess up. You were too shocked to move your eyes. You kept on staring at the liquid. You could feel Loki's eyes on you, but you couldn't stop staring. When the liquid mess was gone, you looked back over to Loki. You stared at him in the eyes. His expression was blank. You stayed like that for a while, before you finally looked down.
"I think you're more upset about the punch then I am." He finally said.
You laughed and looked back up at him, finally smiling. "I suppose so."
"It's been quite the night."
You nodded.
"I think I'll head back to my room now. I'll see you tomorrow for our little tour of Asgard?"
"Of course."
You watched Loki walk away. You looked back into the shadows where Duleith had talked to you. Through the shadows, you could almost picture Duleith watching you.
"If you don't kill him in three days," he had said. "I will be sent to kill him and take you back."
You turned your back on the shadows and headed off to your room. Three days. Three days and Loki would be dead.
You smiled back. "Sorry. I thought I saw someone I knew. I was wrong."
"I see. Well, if you see them again, don't let me hold you back."

Loki x Reader - Hero: Chapter 3
You wake up in the morning to a cool autumn sun spilling through your bedroom window curtains. You smile softly at the lovely dream you had been having and arch your back in a cat-like stretch, which is slightly difficult due to the strong arms locked around you. Wait, what?!
Your eyes snap open to meet a familiar pair of green orbs. You barely suppress a startled squeak, which pulls an amused “ehehehehehe” from the lips mere inches from your own.
“Good morning, darling. Oh my, you are turning the most fascinating shade of red at the moment. What color is that? It looks lovely on you.”

LokiXReader Chapter 1
"Don't take your hands or eyes off that trigger." Clint whispered to you.
Eyes trained on the target rather than the trigger, you lowered your weapon slightly.
"Yes, please don't," The demigod spoke, and you felt your grip tighten on the gun, "I'm afraid to say I wont be the one responsible for your world fading if you do."
"Shut up!" Clint barked.
After another moment, you lowered the gun again. It still stayed raised, but to a smaller degree.
"(Y/n)," Clint hissed. "What are you doing?"
"He wont hurt either of us, he's too weak." You gestured towards the injured demigod with a nod of your head, keeping your eyes trained on him.

Takes place in ancient Rome but to make it easy to understand the talking will be modern-ish.
There was a large smile on your face as you walked through the town square with your family. Your father had commented on your cheery mood earlier, but you hadn’t dared to tell him the real reason for your happiness. You were in love and although it was the most wonderful feeling in the world it scared you. It wasn’t the emotion itself that scared you but the consequences of it. Marriage was banned for all men of fighting age and your parents were already talking about who they should marry you off too.
